Po použití čistících prostředků by mohl pach zůstat uvnitř humidoru. Je třeba poznamenat, že čistící prostředky se ve vnitřní části humidoru mohou používat jen ve stavech k tomu nutných. Abyste se zbavili nepříjemných pachů, zkuste následující:
Nejprve humidor otevřete a dostatečně vyvětrejte.
V případě, že toto nepomohlo a I po několika dnech pach zůstal, vložte do humidoru sklenici whisky/brandy a uzavřete. Varování: Toto změní vůni humidoru na dlouhou dobu! Někteří nadšenci z celého světa přidávají pár kapek brandy do zvlhčovače, aby zjemnili chuť a vůni svých doutníků.
